The Risk Engine reads the same synced trade feed that powers your dashboard, but it's watching a different question: not what happened, but what your current exposure looks like right now.
Every open position reported by the EA feeds into a live view of total exposure relative to account equity, correlation between simultaneously open positions, and current drawdown relative to your historical maximum — recalculated continuously as new trade data arrives, not just at the end of the trading day.
Risk conditions can change within minutes — adding a second correlated position, for instance, changes your concentration risk immediately, long before it would show up as a meaningful change in account balance. Because the Risk Engine tracks this continuously rather than periodically, it can flag the change close to when it actually happens.
Your risk score and related indicators update automatically as your synced positions change — there's nothing to manually refresh or recalculate. See 'Inside the Risk Engine: How Solven4 Protects Your Capital' and 'Reading Your Risk Score' for a deeper look at how to interpret what you see.
