The Rules Engine: Automating Discipline Into Every Trade

Almost every trader already knows their own rules — the problem was never knowing them, it was enforcing them in the exact moment discipline is weakest. The Rules Engine exists to close that specific gap.

Why knowing a rule isn't the same as following it

'Stop trading after two losses' is easy to say and hard to do at 11pm after the second loss of the night, with the market seemingly offering an obvious third setup. The Rules Engine is built around the observation that the failure point for most traders isn't a lack of rules — it's a lack of enforcement at the exact moment those rules are hardest to keep.

What can actually be automated

Rules can be set around maximum daily loss, maximum position size, a cooldown period after consecutive losses, restricted trading windows (around major news, for instance), and maximum correlated exposure across open positions. Once set, these aren't suggestions — they're enforced automatically, removing the moment of willpower entirely.

Where rules come from

The best Rules Engine setups usually come directly from patterns already surfaced in your Trading DNA profile or flagged repeatedly by the Coach — a rule is most valuable when it's built to prevent a specific mistake you've already made more than once, rather than a generic best practice copied from someone else's trading style.
